AAC Certification Application


You've completed the requirements for professional certification in animal-assisted counseling (AAC). To apply for certification, you will need the following items:

  • AAC Certification Fee - a fee of $75 covers administrative costs for certification; pay this fee PRIOR to completing the Certification Application on the Registration page
  • AAC Clinical Hours Log - documenting 100 direct hours of counseling with your therapy animal and 10 hours of AAC supervision
  • Personal Professional Liability Insurance Policy - documenting that you are currently covered for animal-assisted counseling/therapy 
  • AAC Attestation Form - acknowledging that you will abide by AAC Academy certification policies. Download the form at this link: Attestation Form. You will need to sign, scan, and upload the form in this application.

Certification Forms

The fee must be paid before we can process your application.

Certifications are mailed during the month of July. This allows all AAC practitioners to complete the certification process. It also keeps all certified practitioners on the same renewal schedule. AAC certification is valid for two years.
